We recommend you have preventative care (cleanings) at least twice a year to keep them healthy and prevent decay. Along with regular brushing and flossing, regular oral hygiene appointments will keep your teeth and gums free of plaque and tartar that can lead to infection. Regular examinations will also let us detect early signs of decay and disease.
The first part of your appointment will be a professional cleaning. One of our hygienists will remove the tartar from your teeth and then clean and polish them. We may also provide a fluoride treatment to protect your teeth against decay.
After your cleaning we’ll examine your mouth and teeth. The examination includes a screening for oral cancer and may also include X-rays to detect signs of trouble above your gum line.
